Culturally, Linguistic and Inclusive Communication Practices presented by Jennifer Montgomery
This workshop will review strategies on creating a culturally linguistic and inclusive early childhood environments. We will focus on how to effectively support development of first and dual language learners within the context of culture. There will be a strong focus on the use of books including wordless books as strategies that help children to learn the sounds, structure and patterning of language. The developmental steps of dual language learners will be presented as the cognitive advantage of being bilinguals.
